I’m from the generation where you have to look a certain way & act a certain way in order to “fit in.” The peer pressure is real. I’m glad I was raised to love myself and be confident & to not care what anyone thinks of me.
I think people fail to realize that it’s okay to be different, look different, have different interests etc. If we all looked the same, and did everything exactly the same, where would we stand out? It would be easy for anyone to say you’re just like the next person. You wouldn’t be ditiguishable.
Sometimes the people that you’re trying to fit in with or impress aren’t even good influences. Most of them aren’t doing anything positive. Trust me, I witness this almost everyday. STOP trying to blend in with the crowd. People will find you more appealing if you’re just yourself. If you have a talent, why not put it to use ? You’ll get recognized for it. Maybe you know how to do makeup, maybe you can draw or maybe you’re a good singer! Don’t burry the talent God has given you. It is impossible for everyone to be the same. Even if someone so-called, “fits in,” there’s something that makes them different.
Every one of you is unique in your own special way. You have to tell yourself this everyday when you look in the mirror. You’ll start to believe it. Then is when your confidence will build & you won’t be worried about anyone’s opinion. Be true to who you are. Don’t be ashamed. It’s better to live for yourself than to live for others, you’ll be stripping away your own happiness. Each one of you is beautiful and unique, make it a challenge to find yourselves. ❣❣
