5 Steps That Will Guarantee You a Better Day


I strongly believe that the way you start off your day determines how the rest of your day will go. The energy you put out is the same energy you will receive. I’m pretty sure that everyone wants to have a great day, but it takes more than wanting. You have to demand it and you need to believe that you will. What if I told you that the way your day will play out and the way your life will play out can all be controlled with your mind? It’s true and I’ll show you how! I’ve gotten into the habit of doing a couple of things before getting my day started that make me feel amazing in the end!

Give Thanks

The truth is, we tend to take our lives for granted. Today wasn’t promised, but you woke up and for that you should be entirely grateful. This alone should make your day! Whatever it is you believe in, say thank you; thank the universe!



This is something I just started doing and I wonder why I didn’t start earlier. If you’ve never tried it you should. Meditating is basically finding your inner peace and once you’re done you feel so refreshed and energized.

While browsing through that app store, I came across the Calm app. This app is specifically designed for meditation. It includes many guided meditation sessions, so it is perfect for beginners. Calm also allows you to set daily reminders for your meditations. If you don’t want to use your smart phone, you can also access Calm on your laptop or tablet.

At first, meditating is really difficult. Sitting in silence isn’t always easy. In fact, it just makes it easier for your mind to wander, but you can definitely get the hang of it, if you use this app daily.

Have a Hearty Breakfast

Having a healthy breakfast is an important factor in having a great day. This is one step I am guilty of not practicing consistently, but now that I am back in school I try to make sure I eat something in the morning. Lately, I’ve been making it a point to use my Nutri-Bullet to make delicious smoothies using fruits and yogurt. The smoothies definitely fill me up and make me feel energized.


Plan Your Day/Week

Before the new year started, I decided to buy a planner because a goal of mine is to start organizing my life. Use a planner or journal and write down everything it is you need to do for that day or week. Once you get in the habit of doing this you will notice a great weight lifted off of your shoulders. Make life easier for yourself. With your week planned out, all you need to do is follow what you have written down. This leaves room for your mind to focus on other important things.



To have a great day you need to demand one. Like I’ve said before, the energy you put out is the same you will get in return. When you wake up in the morning, it is important that you start your day off with optimism by saying, “Today, I’m going to have an amazing day.” A day started of with negativity will attract negativity to the rest of your day. Your mind has the power to change that. So, what will you do?

These are the steps I try to follow and that work for me. Practice them everyday, tweak it here and there and adjust it to your own liking and let me know how it works!
