I’m at a point where I’m so tired of my face breaking out. I usually have the breakouts around that certain time of the month. I think I wouldn’t mind so much if my skin didn’t blemish so easily, but it does and so I have to deal with it.
Towards the end of the summer, I started breaking out on my forehead and on the side of my face. A literal nightmare. So, I decided to put more focus into my daily skin care regimen. If you struggle with acne, its important to figure out what kind of products your skin will react well to, based on your skin type.
It’s so important that you do your research. I find Youtube to be very helpful. Many youtuber’s will post their skin routine. Take that and find what works for you. I’m subscribed to NaturalNeiicy and I came across her skincare routine, which actually ended up helping me. I took her advice and went and found products that I felt might work for myself. Since coming up with my own routine, I’ve started seeing a difference. Thank Goodness!! Now, let me give you a breakdown of what I’ve been doing to clear up my skin.
Just so you know, I have oily skin so I find that doing my routine twice a day works best. In the morning and at night.
I exfoliate my face about 2 to 3 times a week using the St. Ives Apricot Scrub. Don’t care what anyone says, exfoliating is crucial especially if you struggle with blemishes. Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells. If your skin feels rough, you might just need some exfoliation. This is essential to prep for the next step which is cleansing.
After you’ve exfoliated, your skin is ready, your pores are open and ready for deep cleaning. I found a deep cleanser by Neutrogena that has been working really well for me. Using my finger tips, I massage the deep cleanser into my skin for 2 to 3 minutes.
Once I rinse off the cleanser, it’s time for a face mask. I try to do this at least twice a week. I found this great charcoal + plum skin detoxing peel off mask at Ulta by Formula 10.0.6. It’s amazing and you actually feel it working in your pores. Once it dries I just peel it off and rinse my face with warm water.
After all this, my skin tends to feel dry because the product literally strips my face of all those oils. I use my toner by Thayers to freshen up my skin and add some moisture back! I also go in with some Palmer’s Moisturizing Oil.
All this may seem like a lot but it is definitely well worth it, especially if you’re trying to get rid of blemishes. Over the weeks I’ve noticed my skin getting significantly clearer, and that’s thanks to the routine I’ve developed. Develop a routine and stick to it! You will see results!
