Lately, I’ve been making a conscious effort to better myself and my lifestyle. In order to do this, I noticed that it is important for me kick bad habits and create better ones.
In my own experience, it’s a lot harder for good habits to stick than it is for the bad ones. So, to help myself out, I’ve come up with routines. Today, I’m going to share my morning routine with you. Everything I’ll be mentioning allows me to feel more put together, which then sets the tone for the rest of my day.
I normally have my alarm set for 7:30-8am. After I wake up, I allow myself to lay in bed for about 30 minutes.
Once my 30 minutes is up, I get up, brush my teeth, and wash my face. My skincare routine is still the same. If I need to exfoliate, I use the St. Ives Apricot Scrub, but daily I use my Neutrogena deep cleanser. Then, I moisturize my face using Shea Moisture’s Raw African Shea Butter.
I’m not much of a breakfast person to be quite honest. After I’m done brushing my teeth and washing my face, I’ll usually just have a glass of orange juice and sometimes I’ll have a yogurt. While I drink my OJ and eat my yogurt you can find me seated at the dining table usually brain storming and writing my blog post drafts or I’m on my laptop typing out content or creating graphics. I usually spend about 2 hours doing this and I’ll have some music playing in the background while I work to keep me focused.
After my work is done, I lock myself away in the bathroom and take a blazing hot shower!! Honestly, this is something I look forward to. I’m just laughing thinking about it. I genuinely enjoy my shower time. That’s where I do a lot of reflection, I clear my head and it just relaxes me so much. Who can relate? When I get out, I moisturize my body either using my Jergens body lotion or my shea butter.
Once that’s all done and I’ve gotten into some comfy clothes, I make my bed. This is something that I’m getting myself used to doing everyday. It makes my room look more put together and gives me a clear mind. So far, it’s been going really well. After that, I just chill out until it’s time for me to get ready for work!
Setting a routine for myself has made me feel like I am creating better use of my time. Since I am waking up a lot earlier than I used to, I am able to do more and my day doesn’t feel so rushed.
I hope this was enjoyable and informative. I would love to know what your morning routine consists of. Comment down below!
