Hey loves! It’s times for an update. I’ve been going through it with my hair. Since I last dyed my hair, which was in December of 2017, my hair grown out quite a bit. I must admit that for the past few months I haven’t been caring for my hair as well as I should. I’ve been going months without deep conditioning and moisturizing my hair. As a result of that I have dry crispy ends where my hair is dyed.
I thought maybe I just needed a trim. So I trimmed my ends and they still felt the same afterwards. Thennn I tried a protein treatment by Sunny Isles and my hair felt no better. Fast forward, I got my hands on some new products. I got a Moisture Mask from Cantu’s new line called TXTR, Aussie’s new Miracle Moist Intense Hydration Oil, and Design Essential’s Daily Moisturizing Hair Lotion.
The combination of these three products made my hair feel so good. So, I’m going to share with you a new routine that I’ve come up with that I feel is going to restore my hair’s health.
My New Weekly Hair Routine
My number one goal for my hair at the moment is to keep it hydrated and trim my dyed ends little by little as it grows, until my hair is all one color again. I strongly feel like dying my hair has damaged it. Thankfully, the rest of my hair relatively healthy.
My new routine is quite simple. It consists of:
- deep conditioning my hair on a weekly basis
- keeping my hair moisturized by using moisturizing lotions and oils
- styling my hair at night.
I would usually deep condition my hair ever 2 weeks, but my hair is lacking so much moisture that I feel like every week will definitely benefit me, at least for now.
I can’t let my hair go dry. Using my moisturizing hair lotion as well as my intense hydrating oil as I style my hair is going to be extremely important so that my hair doesn’t experience breakage.
Lastly, styling my hair at night. I got in the habit of just covering my hair at night with a satin scarf, but because my hair was not styled I’d wake up to tangled hair! Lazy habits!! I’ve come to the conclusion that at least braiding or twisting my hair before bed may be my best bet! (even though I don’t always have the patience for it!)
This routine will truly be a test, but I plan on sticking to it! So far it has been going well, and my hair is already a bit more manageable. I look forward to updating you further down the road. What’s your hair care routine?
